The role reports to Intercompany Tower Manager and is an active part of GBS organization. Responsibilities:

Key objectives for this position include:

• Midlevel finance operations role in Smith & Nephew Global Business Services (GBS) responsible for delivery of effective and efficient finance transactional processes and controls from a GBS centre and in line Group Finance Manual, Minimum Acceptable Practices (MAPs) and Sarbanes Oxley requirements. Delivers the service to meet SLAs and critical metrics and to ensure positive Voice of Customer feedback
• This position will be a key leader in the ongoing development of Company’s intercompany processes, policies, and procedures. As such, the TL will need a strong understanding of Company’s organization structure to facilitate responding to various ad hoc requests from tax, treasury, as well to design the most efficient intercompany processes pertaining to business models and updated tax strategies. Critical to the execution of this role is a strong bias towards continuous improvement in execution, standardization of procedures, and implementation of a robust control framework.
• Responsible for ongoing development in Company’s intercompany related processes, improvements, and policies
• Lead and support various intercompany projects by providing business requirements and accounting designs, review testing, resolve issues to meet the project achievements and ensure a smooth launch and minimize risks and impact to the integrity of financial data and month-end close process.
• Provide oversight to our Shared Service Centre’s COE team supporting the intercompany accounting, operations, and projects throughout the month, incorrectly billed company), by recommending corrective actions to the appropriate site POCs.
• Final reviewer of sophisticated intercompany transactions and responsible for the monthly Intercompany close process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Tax, Treasury, GBS, IT, cost accounting, etc.) to find opportunities to improve and standardize accounting processes including the Intercompany closing process (i.e. reduce mismatches, reducing close cycle, automate manual processes) while not compromising the quality of the resulting financial data.
• Plans to ensure a resilient service through an effective staff backup structure. Develops and motivates staff and optimizes attrition. Maintains Segregation of Duties or mitigating controls.
• Proactively track inter-company issues, and coordinate with IT and other functional owners to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
• Assist in investigating and resolving sophisticated accounting issues timely and optimally.
• Prepare recons and roll forwards for internal and external reporting. Perform ad hoc analyses as the need arises. Responsible for other general ledger related tasks as assigned.
• Identifies/reviews and resolves invoicing issues. Reviews and sends the invoice drafts to the Regional accountants and site POC for approval. Reconciles and analyses the transactions of the Accounts Receivable on account to resolve items for cross charging. Recommends resolution for aged items with incomplete details, without Intercompany partners code, missing backups, and disputed charges.
• Follow up and clearance of Balance Sheet open items with proper action plan in line with Controls and Compliance.

Education – MBA Finance / M.Com. (Qualified Accountant Preferable)

Experience –

• Should have handled R2R/IC Operations for at least 6-8 years and have excellent domain expertise in Closing & Reporting process.
• Basic understanding on P2P and O2C operations
• Team Leading experience at least 3 years and teams of at least 5 FTE
• Extraordinary teammate with ability to build relationships and influence team members and wider collaborators
