Department Description

India Tax and Finance team is responsible for controllership of India domestic entities and its holding company based in Mauritius. The team is responsible for not only maintaining book-keeping but for other statutory and regulatory compliances as well including taxation, SEZ, exchange control and other applicable compliances.

Team’s activity includes:

• Accounting – Month close activities, preparation of year end financial statements and statutory audit, management reporting
• Direct and Indirect taxation compliances – Corporate tax, transfer pricing, Goods and Service tax
• Treasury – Liquidity Management, compliance with exchange control regulations and payments to vendors and employees
• Regulatory Compliances – SEZ compliances

In addition to above, this team also supports and coordinates with Group Tax to deliver transactional and strategic initiatives such as overseas VAT return of group entities, Country by Country Reporting including Master File, Group transfer pricing documentation, Group year end support and UK and Ireland tax compliances.

Purpose of the role

The role will be responsible for data extraction, analysis and reporting for various subsidiaries within FIL Group and help in preparation of executive dashboards as per the business requirement.

Key Responsibilities

The key activities involved shall consist of the below :-

• Responsibility for data analysis for FIL Ledgers
• Liaising with various controllers to understand the numbers booked in ledgers
• Liaising with Bermuda Finance and group tax team to understand the adjustment required
• Preparation of number analysis and dashboard for stakeholders
• Responsible for adjustments required as per new regulations
• Preparation of schedule for statutory audit for Indian legal entities and coordinating with auditors wherever required
• Awareness of evolving accounting, regulatory and tax regulations and standards

Experience and Qualifications Required

• MBA/CA Inter/CA with 4-5 years of industry/audit experience in accounting and taxation
• Sound accounting and tax knowledge, detail oriented and good with numbers
• Ability to prepare dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI/Tableau
• Advanced excel spreadsheet skills
• Good communication skills (oral and verbal)
• Sound Knowledge of JDE, Oracle and HFM
• Ability to manage tight deadlines
• Attitude to Learn
